The death has occurred of Gerard O’Leary, ‘Glenluice’, Spanish Point, Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare/Glasnevin, Dublin 11/Kilrush,

It is with great sadness that we inform of the passing of Gerard (Gerry) O’ Leary, retired member of An Garda Síochana, late of Spanish Point, Co. Clare and formerly of Glasnevin, Dublin 11/Frances Street, Kilrush, died June 26th 2024 (peacefully) at his home.

Predeceased by his Father Finbar, Mother Pearl and sister Dympna R.I.P

Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marie, son Finbarr, daughter Gráinne, brothers Barry and Aidan, grandchildren Tadhg and Éala, son-in-law Darragh, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing in St Joseph’s Church, Miltown Malbay this Saturday, 29th June, from 4pm with prayers at 5pm.

Funeral mass on Sunday, 30th June, at 12.15 pm

Followed by burial in New Shanakyle Cemetery, Kilrush.

15th Sunday Ordinary Time

Jesus made a tour round the villages, teaching. Then he summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs giving them authority over the unclean spirits. And he instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no haversack, no coppers for their purses. They were to wear sandals but, he added, ‘Do not take a spare tunic.’ And he said to them, ‘If you enter a house anywhere, stay there until you leave the district. And if any place does not welcome you and people refuse to listen to you, as you walk away shake off the dust from under your feet as a sign to them.
