Killaloe Diocese Annual Clergy in-service Sunday 15th to Wednesday the 18th of October
A note from Bishop Fintan: The Priests of the diocese will be on their Annual Diocesan InService in Loughrea beginning on the evening of Sunday the 15th October until the afternoon of Wednesday the 18th October. This is a very important time for priests to be together and to engage in on-going personal and pastoral development. It is also a time for the priests of the diocese to respond to the Synodal invitation of Pope Francis for priests to engage ministry in a discerned and reflective way. It is hoped that all priests in active ministry would be completely free from pastoral engagements during this time. I am asking that funerals would be suspended until priests return from their in-service on Wednesday afternoon.

Fr. Oliver Ryan will only be available for 10 a.m. Mass Monday-Wednesday.

Reflection

15th Sunday Ordinary Time

Jesus made a tour round the villages, teaching. Then he summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs giving them authority over the unclean spirits. And he instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no haversack, no coppers for their purses. They were to wear sandals but, he added, ‘Do not take a spare tunic.’ And he said to them, ‘If you enter a house anywhere, stay there until you leave the district. And if any place does not welcome you and people refuse to listen to you, as you walk away shake off the dust from under your feet as a sign to them.
